The 48-megapixel primary camera captures decent daylight images and passable nighttime images. The other two cameras are quite standard. Xiaomi has given the Redmi Note 10 series a slight makeover with the introduction of the new “Evol” design language. The four lenses, which are all various diameters, are grouped in a large, rounded panel that sticks out from the back by roughly 1 mm.
If you go with the Frost White or Shadow Black selections, the rest of the rear panel is very basic; however, the Aqua Green color has a subtle gradient. There is a matching frame, flattened on top and bottom, for each of the three. Curving along the sides, the rear panel provides a pleasant grip. The back panel’s matte texture appealed to me, and it resists smudging well. This phone will maintain its attractive appearance even after prolonged use.
Performance
Redmi Note 10 is the first smartphone to use the Snapdragon 678 chipset. This update is a gradual improvement over the long-term Snapdragon 675.
The Redmi Note 10 might not be your best bet if you’re looking for sheer performance. This is especially apparent when gaming. The Note 10 performs poorly when the visuals are set to their highest settings. With the visuals pushed up, games like Call of Duty: Mobile work flawlessly, but the phone warms up a lot. Here, I’d advise turning down the graphics or sticking with simple games.
But in daily use, it’s a different story. The chipset is robust, and you’ll hardly ever have any problems. MIUI 12 has a ton of features and is well-optimized. As we’ve seen with some MIUI implementations, we didn’t observe any significant flaws or issues, other than a few sporadic microstutters during UI navigation. Xiaomi has also reduced the amount of notifications and ad spam, which is a positive development.
